Community Christmas Wreath

Each year, Riverside 4-H Club supports the Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation by purchasing a wreath which is hung in the Village... extending greetings to the community over the holidays.

Annual Public Speaking Competition

This event is held on the first Saturday of March at the Natural Resources Education Centre in Middle Musquodoboit.

Winners go on to compete at County Rally against the winners from Shu-Mil and Hardwood Lands Clubs.

Past Events & Projects:

Riverside 4-H Project Club has carried a variety of projects since its inception. Sewing, crafts, foods, woodworking, scrap booking, outdoorsmen, sheep, dairy, goat, beef, light horse, draft horse, dog obedience, welding, poultry, and waterfowl projects have all given members a chance to experience many new learning situations.

Projects offered depend on membership interest and leader availability. Click HERE for Current Project Meeting Dates.

During 2007, members from our club attended Provincial 4-H Weekend in Truro. Geoff Larkin and Joan Cole were members of the County Woodsmen Team, which placed an impressive second in the province!  Geoff competed in the single pulp sawing, and crosscut events, while Joan competed in the back tank relay and the water boil competitions. In the evening awards presentations, Briana Dillman received a National Travel Award to the 4H Members Conference in Toronto in November.

In summer of 2007, ten members and two leaders from our club had the exciting opportunity to participate in the Youth Exchanges Canada program and traveled to Saskatchewan. Our club members then had the opportunity to host a similar group from Saskatchewan.
